Waiting for Paramore to drop new music has been a crazy process. There’s been lots of lunch eating, lots of teasing on Twitter by Hayley Williams, and the fans have been waiting anxiously. Finally, the band has dropped the first single from upcoming album After Laughter (out May 12th) called “Hard Times“. The song has some serious 80’s vibes going on.

Something that I’ve noticed over the past 4 years of being a fan of this band is the community that the band has created. I like a lot of different types of music but with Paramore specifically, it’s not just being a fan; it’s being part of a family. There’s people from all over the world that have something in common because of their mutual love for Paramore. I decided to ask some fans what the band means to them. Here are some of the responses I received:

It means being a part of a family that is always changing but manages to stay together

Being a Paramore fan is more than what it sounds. We have a community & family built around this band. When I’m emotionally at my worst, Paramore & the para-family always picks me up

To be a part of a community. To feel loved. To worship the music TOGETHER and share thoughts and feelings. To be able to learn lessons from the band and their experiences. To be ONE.

That I can look up to people who have gone through struggles and still managed to fight through it which inspires me every single day

So much! So much that I can’t even put into words. I’ve been rocking with this band since 2007, and I don’t plan on stopping. Even if this new album flops or doesn’t do well, I’ll still be rocking with them because their music has helped me through so much in my life. I hope they know how much their music has touched so many fans worldwide, including me.

Paramore means the world to me. I would do anything for that band. Always going to be there through the good times and the “hard times”

Being a Paramore fan is something I can say proudly. They’re such an amazing and talented band who give out so many positive messages in their music. Seven years down the line and there hasn’t been a day where I’ve been ashamed to be a “fan.” but an amazing thing about Paramore is that they don’t see us as fans, rather a family. They are some of the genuinely nicest people and I’m so glad that there are people as amazing as Hayley, Taylor and Zac in the industry.

I have been a Paramore fan since I was 11 (now 16) and the past 5/6 years of being a fan has taught me so much. I have been able to express myself in so many ways, been inspired to learn an instrument and start a band and more importantly be able to enjoy life and not care what anyone else thinks all because of this one band. Being a Paramore fan means the world to me and I couldn’t love any other band the way I love them

I put this question out on Twitter and I received a lot of responses, more than I could fit in this article. Knowing that music can create such a tight-knit bond between people is one of the things that I enjoy most about it. The whole parafamily is incredible and I can’t wait for the new album!

What do you think of Paramore’s new sound?

All Time Low have officially (more like finally) announced their debut album, Last Young Renegade. Yes, we said debut – as in their first album being released on Fueled by Ramen instead of Hopeless Records.

The album was announced through a poetic post on Instagram, hinting at themes of total self-rediscovery and realization by singer Alex Gaskarth himself. There are also hints at Stranger Things influenced music (which we are totally here for), as well as paying homage to the late Prince, Bowie and George Michael on the record.

Who is the Last Young Renegade? After all this time writing music, playing in a band- checking moment after moment off the bucket list- collecting mistakes, making memories, I wondered what it might be like to write about myself if I wasn’t the one standing in my shoes. Who am I from the other side of the mirror? I tried to change perspective in my approach to writing and center in on all of the different versions of me that other people might have met over the years, through the ups and the downs, in the public eye and behind closed doors. Would I like this person? Do I like this person? Do I even recognize this person anymore? I realized that there’s a lot more to me than I’m usually ready to acknowledge, both good and bad. In that realization, I noticed a common thread. We are who we are, even when we try our hardest not to be. It’s a challenge to accept it sometimes. I gave those other sides of me a persona, and a name– then came the stories like a flood. It was a way for me to confront demons without having to sit at the dinner table with them. That’s the journey on this record: a story of self-realization. Of growing into your own skin through the eyes of someone watching it all unfold on the big screen, wearing a ‘Frankie Says Relax’ t-shirt. Like watching an old familiar movie, but suddenly you’re Marty McFly. We tried a lot of new things on this album, all within the context of what we love so much about All Time Low– There’s no denying that we were binge watching Stranger Things at the time, while also reflecting on the loss of some of our favorite musicians; Prince, Bowie, George Michael… I think the influence comes through in the best ways. We all felt pulled to exciting and different places as we searched for inspiration, approaching something that’s become so familiar to us from a new direction. I truly hope everyone listening enjoys this record as much as I do. It’s been an amazing journey. The album comes out June 2nd and will be available for pre-order on Friday, Feb 24th. We’ll also be posting some pre-order merch bundles, so stay tuned. Pre-order options will be up on xo Alex

It’s always a good day when SWMRS gives us something new to check out. Today, we’ve got their new video for “D’You Have A Car?”

If you haven’t seen the Princes of Oakland Surf Punk live before, this video will motivate you to plan your next road trip and cross it off your bucket list. Their live performance starts a five alarm fire in your heart that doesn’t go out until long after their set is over. We’ll be happy to relive the experience through this video until the next time they roll through our city.

For what seemed like ages, we all hoped and prayed for a return from All Time Low. After much teasing, we finally got it.

That’s right, folks! All Time Low has returned from their cave and they are back with their brand new single, “Dirty Laundry.”

This new single is most definitely a new style for All Time Low. If you would have shown me something like “Coffee Shop Soundtrack” followed by “Dirty Laundry”, I would have not thought it was the same band. However, that’s not to say the song is bad, but that it’s completely different from what we’ve seen with previous releases.

This track definitely has more of an atmospheric feel, as opposed to their more pop-punk drum beats and guitar riffs. The lyrics are fun to sing along to and it looks like a song that fans will grow to love in the future.

And also, can I say that the music video was literally awesome? I can’t be the only one who got serious Stranger Things vibes in that laundromat. Maybe All Time Low visited the Upside Down during their time off…

You heard it here- All Time Low is back and they are ready to take over the world once more.

Fueled By Ramen seems very intent on amping up their roster in 2017, as All Time Low was announced as their newest addition this morning.

Actually, that’s not entirely true. The band has been signed in secret for over a year now. In the age of social media, what kind of band can keep a secret that big for that long?? Kudos to them. They’re hitting the ground running with new single “Dirty Laundry”, and have wasted no time with releasing the video as well.

It’s hard to tell how everyone’s feeling about the track – it seems divided between loving the new sound and hating the pop-friendly vibe. We’re really feeling it though, more so even if we pretend it’s a new band (we seriously miss Nothing Personal). They’ve been working towards a more radio friendly sound for years now, so this natural progression was no shock to us and we’re excited to see where it leads.

All Time Low has jumped labels a few times in the last few years, going from Hopeless to Interscope and back to Hopeless again. From what we read in Alex’s statement, it seems like the band has really loved Fueled By Ramen for a loooooong time (like 10+ years “long time”) so we can only imagine how exciting this is for them. We hope they find a loving home at FBR!

Check out the video for “Dirty Laundry” below.

The newest music video from our frens Twenty One Pilots came out today. Heavydirtysoul is the opening track off their 2015 release, Blurryface. This is the 6th music video from their latest album.

The video features Tyler riding in a car that eventually catches on fire and drummer Josh Dun drumming in the middle of the street. Josh’s drums eventually catch on fire as well. Hasn’t anyone ever told them that playing in the street with fire is bad? Looks like having his car radio stolen is the least of Tyler’s car issues.

Twenty One Pilots are currently on their Emotional Roadshow world tour with Judah and The Lion and Jon Bellion. Make sure you catch them on this tour as they are an amazing band to see live.

U.K.-based band Basement announced today that they’ve signed to Fueled By Ramen. They’ll be joining an extensive roster of bands such as Twenty One Pilots, Paramore, and SWMRS.

They also announced a deluxe edition of Promise Everything, their 2016 album released on Run For Cover Records. The new edition comes in one of the coolest variants of a vinyl record that we’ve ever seen. It also has 4 new tracks, 2 of which are acoustic versions of previously released songs.

This should be great news for their fans worldwide. The band has the potential to grow, go on bigger tours, and gain a lot of new fans. Basement will be embarking on Thursday’s reunion tour in the spring alongside Touche Amore, Wax Idols and Cities Aviv.

Do you think Basement and FBR are a good match?
