Over the summer my favourite band Marianas Trench played a show really close to my home for Canada’s 150th birthday (it was even free), so of course I was going to go- I had already seen them seven times!
As the day arrives, my 11 year-old brother and I decide we want to go check out Sunrise Records in the mall since it had just opened. As we got to the store I turn to the left of me and I saw Mike and Ian from Marianas Trench just sitting there eating lunch. I immediately pointed them out to my brother and we walked over to them.
We asked for a picture, which they kindly took with us. It was nice because there was no crowd or anything. We ran back to Sunrise Records and picked up their first album Fix Me. We went back to them and they signed it for us!
We then had a 10 minute conversation with them, where my brother told them I’ve loved them for years. It was such a good experience, and I’m glad I got to share with someone who loves the band just as much as me.
